So, if you want to write a poem, here's some guidance: first of all, don't try to make all the lines rhyme...if you feel the need to rhyme, just rhyme the last two...that will be enough. Also, you need to talk from the heart, not your head. Don't tell her things she already knows, create images that she understands..for example...look at these two sets of lines and see if you can see which is better: I love you and I always have you are the best mom in the entire world and you mean more to me than anything or I think of you when I smell cookies I cry when I see pictures of you holding me I hear your voice just before I fall asleep I almost see you waiting by the door each time I come home late See the difference? The second set presents images that will make tears come to her eyes...good tears, because these are the images she "wants" you to have..she wants you to think of her even when she's not there...to miss her...and those images say more about love than saying love a thousand times.
