I usually make my own card for her, and write a poem inside. But I cant think of one this year - any suggestions?

Not sure where you are, so you might need to change Mum to Mom.

My Mum/My Mom

You never took time out to worry
About your own problems it seemed
But you always had plenty of time Mum
To chase away children’s bad dreams

To sew on a button or iron a shirt
You were there for me Mum from the start
To listen to all of my troubles
To help mend my first broken heart

I guess I just took it for granted
I knew I could always depend
On the one who would never desert me
Who’d be Mother, advisor and friend

I thank you for love and for kindness
For the kiss as you tucked me in bed
I thank you for lessons and lectures
And all of the kind words you said

For the stories that you’d always tell me
As onto your knee I would climb
But the thing I give thanks every day for is
My Mum could always find time.
