I need some good (hopefully original) ideas on what to get for my wife for Mothers Day. I can't do the whole: make her breakfast and watch the kids for the day thing while she's out at the spa, thing. I'm in Iraq, otherwise I would do something along those lines. We have 3 little ones. 4 years old, 3 years old, and 1 1/2. Please help. I'm racking my brain and can't think of anything good. Thanks for your time!
Hmmm, this is definitely tough. Obviously she wants you home but that's not possible. I know it's not original, but I think that along with anything else you give her, go ahead and order a big bouquet or roses to send. It's kind of a given that you should send them.
Some stores offer personalized gifts ideas like framed poems, engraved frames, etc, but these may be tough to get in the short amount of time you have. I agree with the Video Card idea above (and send roses).

Arrange for a family member to come in for the day and babysit, without her knowing. Have a limo pick her up and take her to the spa and to have her nails done. Just because you can't watch the kids for the day, doesn't mean someone else can't.
OR… call her favorite restaurant and have them deliver her favorite meal along with a bottle of wine and also make sure to deliver a dozen roses. Send her a love letter via e-mail, not to be opened until she cracks open the wine. Make it a mushy love letter…like you are imagining being there with her and kissing the wine from her lips, etc.
1) Mother's LOVE when they get a break from the kids for a day.
2) And even better if they don't have to cook!!
EDIT: Another good idea might be a video of you…talking directly to her through the camera…that is personal, like how much you love her, what you miss about her (the smell of her hair, her laugh, etc.), what you two are going to do together when you get home (not just sex, I mean like spending time together, holding hands, etc.) I am sure she misses you dreadfully, and it would be nice to hear some intimate partner talk from you with you looking right at her!!
Or have someone watch the kids and pay for her to get just her hair and nails done. ANYTHING that gets her out of the house for a few hours.

You can do simply these things and that will be the best Mothers day gifts for your wife. Decorate her room with fresh flowers & floating candles, do the candle light dinner at home with romantic soft music. Buy a card write some best lines for herself as a mother, wife. Present all these things with some yummy chocolates.

Why don't you send a Video Greeting card since your in a far place create a video greeting card especially for mother's day here in : http://www.cardfunk.com/en/create/animated/super-mom its simple but yet touchy at least you remember her. Its the thought that counts.

You can have a really great gift basket made up and sent to her - there are lots of great themes at gourmet gift baskets.
Also, if she has a sweet tooth, sign her up for a "cookie of the month" club, so she gets one every month to remind her of you (and the kids will love it).
