the idea that …
the idea that criticism gets makes for a good parenting technique is odd… it seems to turn out in two ways… perfectionism in the case of dorothy… and never really feeling successful as a person in the case of Stan. Interesting…

i think its funny the reason she gives dorothy the money… she’s like “if he knew I was a soft touch, hed never amount to anything…” but she acts like she IS a soft touch… shes act rather overly dotting around him… I dont get it… if you wanted your son to be strong wouldnt you openly encourage him? not belittle with yutz.. etc the way women in his life seem to do(his mother sofia, dorothy and the girls). t
