Why are Christians are easily Brainwashed by Celebrating Pagan Rituals?

EG: Christmas, Easter, Birthdays, Halloween, New Year’s celebrations, Valentine’s Day, Mothers Day and Patriotic Days.

The Bible nowhere instructs us to celebrate holidays such as Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Valentines Day, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. This leads some to refrain from observing these celebratory days. However, at the same time, the Bible does not speak against celebrating holidays. The Bible mentions several “celebrations” that the Israelites observed: Passover, Pentecost, Purim, New Moon, etc. The difference between these holidays and the holidays celebrated today is that some of our modern holidays have pagan or even anti-Christian origins. Christmas and Easter began as attempts to redefine a pagan holiday with a Christian meaning, i.e., the Easter bunny, the Christmas tree, giving gifts, hunting for eggs, etc.

That leaves us with a difficult decision – should we continue a practice that was started as a pagan religious ritual? Here are a few things to consider: (A) Does the holiday in any way promote false doctrine or immorality (Galatians 5:19-23)? (B) Can we thank God for what we observe on a holiday (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)? (C) Will celebrating the holiday detract from your Christian testimony / witness (Philippians 2:15)? This is a decision a Christian family needs to make together. Pray to God, asking Him what He would have you to do (James 1:5).

why do people treat Father’s day as less important than mothers day?

now i would just like to say that i personally do not agree with the idea of either of them and think personally the both just an invention of shops to make money. however i do personally feel that there is also a degree of sexism linked to this as, from what i have seen people take mothers day much more seriously. for example throughout my primary school years i went to three different primary schools, and in all of them, we where told to make mothers-day cards and gifts during art class but in not one of them did we ever do this for Fathers day. one day when i was around 7 i realised this and actually asked my teacher why this was, she then told me that whilst mothers day was a proper celebration Fathers day was not. you may not agree but i think this i totally sexist. not to mention the fact that my mother actually left me and my brother when i was five and my farther has brought us up ever since.

therefore my question is this, why is it that Fathers day s treated as less important and secondly do you thing that people that agree with this are showing signs of sexism
i don’t resent my mother but nor do i love her. she may have had reasons for leaving, im not sure and i don’t care. i have no desire to ever assosiate with her, she had sex, gave birth as a direct result and walked off. my dad on the other hand cared for both me and my brother, he brought us up and continues to (im 16 btw), i both love and respect my dad.

Its merely because mothers are more receptive to gifts and cards etc and the fluffier sentiments that sells the crap. So the shops hype it up more. Also I suspect that Mothers day may have some deeper roots and has had more time to "bed in" to tradition and culture. Fathers day is a bit of a sop to the feelings of those who thought fathers would feel left out. For the same reason we now have "grandparents days" trying to make an appearance.
Sentiment is big money.

I’m sure as you all know, this sunday is Mothers day. And well, I want to get my Mother something, but I’m not sure what. I don’t have a job, and it would be odd if I asked my Mother for money to get her something so I was thinking of making something. I know this sounds like something a 1st-grader-during-art-class would do, but I can’t think of anything else. So if any of you have any ideas, that would be great. I’m not a crafty kind of person, so something simple but creative would be nice.
